Put Together a Poison Safety Kit!

 

Experts suggest the following items be kept in a pet safety kit in case of emergencies:

 

1) Fresh bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide (max dose 15 mls)

 

2) Turkey baster or large bulb syringe to give hydrogen peroxide.

 

3) Saline eye solution to flush out eye contaminants.

 

4) Artificial tear gel to lubricate eyes after flushing

 

5) Mild grease-cutting dish washing liquid for “shampooing” if skin contamination.

 

6) Rubber gloves

 

7) Tweezers for removing stingers

 

8) Muzzle (ANY injured animal can bite!)

 

9) Pet carrier

 

10) Large towels or blanket for transport or to protect you or the pet from any irritants.

 

11) Always have regular DVM and ER clinics numbers available.
